Chicago Thai Youth Learning (CTYL) is a student-led Illinois not-for-profit organization dedicated to expanding educational opportunities for underserved youth in Chicagoland and Thailand.
We believe students have the ability not only to learn, but also to lead, teach, and give back. Through free tutoring, academic mentoring, college and career preparation, educational resources, and community-based projects, CTYL brings young people together to use their knowledge and experiences to help others.
In Chicagoland, we support students through peer tutoring, mentorship, workshops, and educational programs designed by students, for students. Our volunteers understand that sometimes the most meaningful support comes from someone close in age who is willing to listen, encourage, and share what they have learned.
Our work also extends to underserved communities in Thailand, where we hope to expand access to educational resources and create meaningful connections between young people across cultures and communities.
At CTYL, service is about more than completing volunteer hours. It is about recognizing what we have been given and finding meaningful ways to give something back. Whether we are tutoring a student, developing a workshop, supporting a community project, or helping provide educational resources, we believe small efforts can grow into lasting impact.
